Wednesday 30 October Meet and Greet @ London Heathrow - you arrive following an overnight flight. Collect your bags and come out to arrivals hall, I'll be there. Drive to Yorkshire - no hanging about - we head to God's own country for our first overnight of 3 here. 3 nights in Yorkshire - Days of 30 October-3 November many places of interest including : Yorkshire Moors National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Whitby seaside village(Bram Stoker's Dracula, historical church and Whitby Abbey, yellow top lemon ice-cream, fish and chips), Castle Howard - one of the most beautiful stately homes in Europe, City of York, York Minster, Yorvik Viking Museum, Cliffords Tower, York City Museum, York Chocolate Museum, Scarborough. 4 nights Edinburgh: Days of 3- 7 November St. Andrews (90 minute drive for - Eden Mill Gin distillery, Cathedral, Castle, Chariots of Fire beach "west sands", excellent Fish and Chips at Tail End restaurant) Rosslyn Chapel (Da Vinci Code, owned by the Sinclair Family who were Norman nights) National Museum of Scotland (free entrance, Dolly the Sheep, Victoria Britain, great views from the 7th floor terrace over the UNESCO world heritage city) National Gallery of Scotland (free entrance) - Raeburn, Monarch of the Glen painting, Scottish impressionism and landscape painting Edinburgh Castle Stirling Caste - could be a day trip to include Doune Castle (used as Monthy Pyton and Outlander filming locations) Glasgow - only a one hour drive away - can do the fascinating Kelvingrove Musem (free), see the river Clyde, Museum of Modern Art (free), National Bag Piping Centre, see Glasgow Cathedral (used in the filming of new movie Robert de Bruce) 3 nights Chester Days of 7-10 November We will spend a full day in Liverpool visiting: the Beatles Story museum (fascinating and excellent interactive museum), go to the Cavern Club, see Penny Lane, see the 2 Cathedrals, see Strawberry fields, the Philharmonic Pub (still visited by Paul McCartney), we'll do the City of Liverpool Museum, see the "3 Graces" UNESCO buildings on the River Mersey In Chester - We will explore - the Rows, the River Dee, the City Walls, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Cathedral We'll travel into Snowdonia Mountain Park in Wales for the day and visit some interesting Welsh sites and mountainous scenery with spectacular views and two Castles in Caernarfon and Beaumaris (both UNESCO).
