1. Who is Global Dream Travel?

With over 20 years travel and tourism experience, we are a team of globally-focused British and Irish travel professionals creating custom-designed trips and bespoke packages with the English-speaking traveller in mind. Our clients are mainly American, Canadian, British, Australian and New Zealanders who wish to explore, relax or be more active in comfort. We place a strong emphasis on sustainable and green tourism, having a low environmental impact and a positive contribution to the local communities we interact with.  


2: How would you describe your trips?

We keep our trips throughout the world unique by giving our undivided attention to small groups and ultra-small groups of between 4-12 people. In this way we manage to protect the environments and landscapes we visit. From the moment you’re greeted at arrivals by our representative and their comfortable eco-friendly touring vehicle, you’ll travel in style at a pace matching the group. We offer everyone who takes a trip with us that gold standard they would expect when embarking on a well-planned and expertly designed overseas journey. 

We feel that our guests deserve to have their questions answered, have their curiosity awakened and to have a personalised service all the way from booking to experiencing post-tour feedback. We want our guests to enjoy the trip of a lifetime, feeling that nothing could have been better than the journey they went on. As such, we work with the best service providers and partners to ensure that quality is maintained at all times. We enjoy that many of our newest clients are referenced with word of mouth by our repeat travellers and that people are happy to recommend us to friends and family. We want you to see the highlights, learn the history, taste the local cuisines but also have time for personal interests and some free time to indulge in your favourite activities. Our guides and travel experts will always cater to your need for independent exploration with hints and local tips, sometimes going off the beaten track to the best local places often unknown by the big tour groups. 
 

 


3: What destinations and styles of trip do you offer?

We cover all 7 continents and offer everything from luxury indulgence breaks in Hawaii to cycling around Wales and South East England. Our main priority is client safety and security, so our destinations are chosen to offer the maximum amount of enjoyment in places that we can be sure our guests will feel comfortable visiting. Being a European company with strong links to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, we started offering tours to Europe and have grown to reflect the increased desire of our clients for the exotic, new and fascinating. We constantly look to expand our horizons in the same way our travelers wish to explore more of the world venturing on safaris, skiing in the Japanese Alps or exploring Lord of Rings landscapes on the South Island in New Zealand. 


4: Who is eligible to travel on our journeys?

We cater for all ages as long as those under the age of 21 are accompanied by a parent or guardian with the requirements of good mobility, and a reasonable level of health and fitness. There will be times when we are walking on cobbled stones, up a hill to see a medieval castle or Neolithic fortress. It is important that all travelers are able to enter our vehicles and take flights without assistance, as we unfortunately cannot provide individual assistance to our guests from a mobility perspective. Operating small-group tours requires a certain level of independence and self-reliability as well of course of being respectful of fellow travelers. 

 


5: Do you intend on offering new destinations such as Polar?

Yes, with global warming increasing, you may never see a Polar Bear in the wild again or a Narwhal breach the surface off Greenland. We'll bring you there in the most sustainable way possible. We use fully electric transports where possible. 

 


6: What is the quality of the hotels that you use on your tours?

In Europe, North America and Australasia we offer 3* Deluxe to 5* accommodations depending on the package, the tour and the desires of our guests. On the more bespoke and tailor-made packages, the sky is the limit, but we always make sure we choose clean, spacious, en-suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis as a minimum standard. Our focus is on making sure that our accommodation providers offer the “local feel” and place strong emphasis on sustainability, reducing their carbon footprint and using resources wisely to favour reduced environmental impact.    


7: Do you offer a room-mate matching program?

No, our travellers will likely know one another before travelling or be friends of friends/family.  


8: Do you allow guests to make their own air arrangements?

Yes, in fact it's our policy. It has been our experience that many guests prefer to book their own seats and level of leg-room, guaranteeing the aisle, the window, economy, economy plus, first or business class.  So many people use points and have special bonus plans with credit card companies that booking yourself makes more sense. The only requirement is that our guests arrive at the same airport within a two hour time frame so we can get everyone together and hit the ground running on day one, not losing any time. When you book your trip, you will receive the timing information for arrivals and departures, allowing you to arrive at the same time as your fellow travellers. Upon departure, you will take the same airport transfer provided by us.

 

9: Do you make special arrangements to meet guests’ dietary needs?

As the only meal included every day (apart from the first, arrival day) is breakfast, we make sure guests have a choice in what they eat by recommending local restaurants where you can try local food that caters for all tastes and dietary requirements. Vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians or guests on a specific diet will find it easy to find good, healthy food matching their requirements in each destination. 


10: What are your payment options?

We accept all major credit card and electronic bank transfers.

 

11: What happens when I book my trip?

When payment is completed you will be directed to a Thank You page with a confirmation of your purchase, which will also be sent to you by email. We will confirm the dates you have chosen and provide information on the airport arrangements for your arrival.
 

 

12: Do your tours require a passport or visa?

If you are a citizen of the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the European Union and Great Britain, most destinations worldwide will not require a visa. However, certain countries like Russia and Vietnam will require a visa to be obtained in advance. We will send you an email document which outlines in simple steps the process for you to follow to get your visa. Usually, an embassy charges in the region of $50, depending on the country. If you are a passport holder of another country, please deal directly with your nearest embassy or consulate for the required travel documents. Feel free to get in touch with us should you require assistance. 

 

 

13: Do you offer Travel Protection?

All travellers must purchase travel insurance covering them for the entire duration of the trip. We will ask to send proof of your coverage at least two weeks before the trip begins. Some of our travellers have used AXA, AAA, Allianz Global Assistance, Generali Global Assistance for example.

15: How can I share photos from my trip with Global Dream Travel?

You can engage with fellow travelers, exchange stories and share pictures on our social media platforms. We find a picture says a thousand words and seeing the destinations through the lens of fellow travelers allows dreams of future trips to form. We'd be delighted for you to send us pictures via email, but please make sure that they’re not downloaded from a social media platform, as the definition will be low - please send us the original file. Any pictures you send us could be used in our company marketing.

16. What's included and what's not included on my trip?

Included:

  • Airport transfers upon arrival and departure

  • All accommodations from arrival to departure on a bed and breakfast basis.

  • Professional tour guide services and transport (excluding some Indulgence and Learning Abroad Program trips)

  • All costs associated with driver transport

  • All internal means of transport (ferries, cruises etc.)

  • Suitcase porterage in and out of hotels (one item per person)

Not included:

  • Flights to and from destination.

  • Driver and guide gratuities - suggested $10 combined per person per day

  • Meals - we give our guests the opportunity to choose outside the hotels and explore regional cuisines. Only breakfast is included to get your day started.

  • Travel and medical insurance

  • Transfers from your home to and from your airport of departure

  • Museum and attraction entrances. We give our guests the choice to decide what they wish to do and see with recommendations based on their interests. Our guides will find many free attractions suitable to most tastes.

17. What happens if I cancel my trip?

You will receive a full refund (minus a 5% handling fee) should you cancel prior to one month in advance of the trip start date. If for medical reasons your doctor has advised you not to travel, we will endeavour to provide you with a full refund, depending on the ability of our service providers to refund us in the first instance. We will always do our best on a case by case basis.

20. Do you have a loyalty programme?

Absolutely! Simply create an account with us and you will earn a point for every dollar spent with us. You can easily redeem by clicking on the loyalty programme icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the page, redeeming a coupon for the value you wish to spend.
