This trip is a real must for anyone with an appreciation for European architecture, history and culture! We start in the Czech capital Prague, stooped in history and stunning scenery, before heading to Salzburg via Cesky Krumlov - another vibrant, scenic town. Immerse yourself in classical music by enjoying a Mozart concert during a sumptuous dinner, whilst taking time to relax and unwind with spectacular views of the Alps. The itinerary finishes in Venice, one of the most romantic cities in the world, as we stay just outside on a delightful little vineyard. 

 

The next tour runs from March 1st-10th 2024, priced at £2900 per person on a shared basis, £3750 on a solo occupancy basis. The tour after will be October 2nd-11th 2024

    Detailed Itinerary:

     

    Day 1

     

    Arrive Prague International Airport

    Meet and Greet with Private Driver/Guide

    Depart for our first accomodation which is in the countryside outside Prague

    Deposit Luggage and Check-in

    Freshen up and Return to Prague

    Meet the local Prague tour guide for a guided tour on foot (2-3 hours)

    Have a coffee/light lunch and use restrooms in the middle of the tour

    Enjoy sites such as Charles' Bridge, Old Town, Prague Castle, Old City Gates, Medieval Town, Astronomical Clock, Old Town Hall, famous Churches, ancient Aristocratic buildings and more

    Enjoy dinner in the Old Town 

    Try some fantastic Czech beer - Pilsner is a Czech style of beer

    Depart for our accommodation x3 nights

     

    Day 2

     

    Breakfast included

    Head into the centre of Prague

    Visit Prague Castle - be aware of the importance of arriving early before the crowds

    One needs 2-3 hours to see the famous Cathedral and other buildings associated with the Czech President and Kings of Bohemia

    Have a nice coffee with city views from within the Castle Walls

    Visit the fantastic Musuem at Loreta Prague (see some incredible artefacts and rare liturgical objects encrusted with diamonds and jewels).

    Lunch

    Visit Strahov Library, one of the world's most beautiful inside Strahov Monastery - museum, cafe, gallery and a must visit 

    See the Philosophical Hall

    Dinner/Show - attend a classical musical performance in one of the most beautiful venues in the city. Maybe some of Czech composer's Anton Dvorak's music will be played. 

    Return to Accommodation by 10pm

     

    Day 3 

     

    Breakfast Included

    Today there's the opportunity to do one of several activities

    - Guided tour of the Old Town Hall (great views of Prague in all directions from the top of the tower)

    - Take a cruise on the river Vltava (bring your camera)

    - Go to the TV tower with a great restaurant at the top

    Lunch in the old town

    - Visit the museum of Art Nouveau illustrator Alfons Mucha. You will be very familiar with his work - Champagne and Luxury Products. 

    There will be some free time today to explore Prague Old Town,

    Dinner in Old Town

    Return to Accomodation 

     

    Day 4

    Check out 

    Depart for Cesky Krumlov

    Arrive in one of the most beautiful small cities in Europe

    Walk the old town from the central Square. See the Castle

    Enjoy lunch

    Depart via Linz on the River Danube

    Arrive in Salzburg Area having entered the Alps

    Check in for x3 nights in Salzburg at a Great Gasthaus

    Dinner locally

     

    Day 5

     

    Breakfast included at your Alpine Gasthaus

    Depart for central Salzburg 

    Meet local guide

    Walk through cemeteries, Salzburg Cathedral, see Mozart's home, famous villas and understand the history, politics and culture of the city

    Understand the importance of salt, the river and trade to the historic economy of Salzburg. 

    Salzburg is a Catholic and Conservative town - understand the Italian influences. 

    Lunch locally

    Visit Hohensalzburg Fortress if you are interested

    Try the most famous Mozart Chocolate and Coffee on the Square in the original manufacturer's location

    Dinner locally

     

    Day 6

     

    Breakfast Included 

    Today we visit Bad Ischl, summer home of the Habsburg Monarchy and Holy Roman Emperors 

    Grab a coffee, cake or a beer here and enjoy a calm moment on the square surrounded by beautiful 19th century architecture

    Continue to Hallstatt in the late afternoon when the crowds have left

    Walk through the town and take pictures with the lake as a backdrop

    Hallstatt was the centre of an entire civilization and there's a great museum in the town

    There is a funicular if you want to go to the top of the mountain for elevated views of the lake and surrounded areas

    Depart Hallstatt

    Lunch

    Continue back to Salzburg Area

    Dinner

     

    Day 7

     

    Breakfast Included

    Check out 

    Depart for Slovenia through the Alps and on to Lake Bled

    Arrive at Bled Castle overlooking the Lake 

    Enjoy Slovenian cheese and wine with Lake views from your Castle perch 

    There is excellent service here and it's one of the tour highlights.

    Pass by Triglavski National Park 

    Enjoy the mixing of Germanic, Slavic and Romance cultures in Slovenia

    Continue to the Venice Area and into Italy

    Overnight in the Venice Area for x3 nights

    Stay in a Castle 

     

    Day 8

     

    Breakfast included in the town of Roncade

    Depart for Venice on the train, arrive across the Lagoon at Santa Lucia Train Station

    Take the Vaporetto boat and arrive at Piazza San Marco and meet the local guide

    2 hour local guided experience explaining the Venetian Republic, trading history, best place for coffee and lunch, history and social life of the city

    Lunch in central Venice

    Free time to explore any of the museums and galleries of interest to you

    Dinner in Venice or return on Vaporetto and Train and dine locally

     

    Day 9 

    Breakfast Included 

    Depart for direct public boat to Murano and Murano

    Explore the Island of Murano for Glass making and souvenirs

    Lunch 

    Take the next boat transport to Burano and explore the island with a walk around

    See the lace making and fine products here

    Return to landing port 

    Dinner locally near Roncade

    Final night at hotel
