    Detailed Itinerary

     

    Day 1

    Meet group at Glasgow Airport International Arrivals

    Take a Glasgow Panoramic Tour - covering the Cathedral, Necropolis, George Square, Kelvingrove and much more

    Lunch 

    Drive to Balloch (Loch Lomond) as we start our adventure into the Scottish countryside.

    Check-in to our accommodation.

    Embark on an optional cruise on Loch Lomond, taking in the fresh air and stunning scenery.

    Dinner at Pier Kitchen and Bar 

     

    Day 2: 

     

    Breakfast included

    Drive to Portree, Isle of Skye via length of Loch Lomond, Rannoch Mor, Three Sisters Viewpoints, Glencoe, Fort William, Glencoe, Arasaig, Mallaig (if you want to visit Glenfinnan this would be the best day to include it)

    Lunch along the way

    Take the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale in the afternoon.

    Arrive on Skye and continue to Portree

    Dinner recommendation: Antlers Bar and Grill, Main Square Portree 

    Check in to our accommodation where we will be based for 2 nights.

     

    Day 3: 

     

    Breakfast Included

    Drive up the East Coast of the Island - Flora MacDonald grave, Historic Village, Kilt Rock, Old Man of Storr, Quaring. This adventure on the Misty Isle uncovers some incredible natural beauty and we will allow plenty of opportunity for photo stops.

    Lunch in Portree (lots of choice)

    Free time in portree (there is an option to take a wildlife cruise if you want - dolphins, seals and sea eagles are among many different animals to look out for!)

    Return to Accommodation


     

    Day 4:

    Breakfast included

    Depart and Drive Portree to Uig (1 hour)

    Can stop at Dunvegan Castle if you want - it is a dramatic looking castle with a lot of history and stunning views.

    Check in for Ferry Uig (Skye) to Tarbet (Isle of Lewis and Harris, Outer Hebrides)

    Arrive on Isle of Lewis

    Drive to Stornoway + Check-in

    Dinner recommendation: Boathouse Restaurant 

     

    Day 5: 

    Breakfast Included

    Uncover the best sites on Harris and Lewis today, with visits to the Ness Lighthouse, Arnol Black Houses, Carloway Broch, Callanish UNESCO standing stones and one of the many spectacular beaches you may find here.

    Lunch

    Return for free time in Stornoway - Castle Musuem, walk the town etc.

    Dinner recommendation: No.30 Stornoway 


     

    Day 6:

    Breakfast will have to be very early or in a take-away box due to the early ferry to the mainland.

    Sailing: Stornoway to Ullapool 

    Drive the North Coast 500 to Oasis Sands for Lunch. This route is an iconic drive, with many placing the North Coast 500 on their bucket list items. Once again there will be many opportunities for photo stops.

    Lunch

    Continue to Dunnet Head (more northerly than John O Groats)

    Take Ferry from Scrabster to Stromness

    Arrive Stromness

    Drive to Kirkwall for x2 Nights

    18:45 Dinner recommendation: Helgis Restaurant

    Check-in to Accommodation x2 Nights


     

    Day 7: 

     

    Breakfast 

    Depart for Skara Brae, Churchill's Barriers, Italianate Chapel, Magnus Cathedral. These incredible sites cover so many key parts of history on the island, and they are all within a relativel short distance of one another.

    Lunch recommendation: The Kirk by Sheila Fleet

    Free time Kirkwall

    Highland Park Distillery is an optional extra but requires booking well in advance.

    Dinner recommendation: the Forevan Restaurant

     

    Day 8: 

     

    Breakfast

    Ferry Stromness to Scrabster 

    Continue on East Coast to Inverness

    Stop at Dunrobin Castle if you want for entrance (2 hours needed)

    Lunch

    Arrive Inverness

    Dinner 

    Check into Hotel x2 Nights

     

    Day 9: 

     

    Breakfast

    Visit Culloden Battlefield - this was a key battle in Scottish history as we learn all about the famous Bonnie Prince Charlie.

    We then take a short visit to Clava Cairns which is a famous ancient burial site which is over 4000 years old. We then continue to Cawdor Castle (associated with MacBeth) - for a visit to the castle and gardens. This is also a good stop for lunch as the food is good here.

    Return to Inverness - free time to explore

    Dinner recommendation: Hootenany Inverness 


     

    Day 10: 

    Breakfast 

    Depart Inverness

    Drive to Pitlochry - Free time in Pitlochry

    Continue to Edinburgh stopping off at The Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel, as well as a photo stop for the iconic Three Bridges. 

    Check-in to accommodation.

    Dinner recommendation: Dine Edinburgh
     

    Day 11: 

     

    Breakfast

    Free Time to Explore Edinburgh on Foot

    1pm: Lunch recommendation: Makers Mark Edinburgh (9-12 Bank Street, just off Royal Mile) 

    5pm: Norloft : Pre-Dinner Drink (x1 drink included per person) with Great Views over Edinburgh 

    6:30pm Dinner at Cafe Royal
