    Full itinerary:

     

    Day 1

    Arrive at Ronaldsway Airport

    Meet and Greet with your Local Manx Driver Guide in Arrivals

    Drive 10 minutes to Comis Hotel and Check in for 4 nights

    Refresh in your rooms before departing to the see the Island

    Depart for Douglas, Capital of the Island

    Visit the Manx Museum (15 minute drive from hotel)

    Time for lunch/dinner in Douglas

    Short orientation to stretch the legs on the main street and promenade in Douglas and see some historic monuments

    Return to Hotel

     

    Day 2

    Breakfast Included at Hotel

    We will start the day by taking you to Port St Mary for the start of your walk. 


    Raad Ny Foillan 3: Port St Mary to Port Erin

    Grading: Moderate
    Distance: 11 km / 7 miles

    With cinematic views, pass sheer cliffs, historic villages and wonderful wildlife. This walk around the Island's southern coast is a favourite amongst walkers and one which can also be enjoyed at a comfortable pace.
    This unforgettable section offers tremendous opportunities to see a contrast of scenery as well as marine wildlife. The terrain changes as you leave Port St Mary from grassy footpaths to moorland and cliffs. A short detour will take you to the rocky Chasms or around the Manx Folk Village of Cregneash. Take a refreshing break at the half-way point, Cregneash Tea Rooms or The Sound, where you can spot seals sunbathing on the rocky Kitterland, and enjoy panoramic views of the Calf of Man.


    Spend the evening around Port Erin with a walk towards Bradda Head, the headland popular with photographers. The sheltered beach is great for relaxing with huts to hire or a dabble in watersports with 7th Wave and Port Erin Paddleboards in the vicinity. For more adventurous sports the coastline at Gansey Bay is a great spot for surfing – try Dave’s Waves.


    Visit Foraging Vintner’s 
    Overlooking the bay, this working and unique craft winery specialise in sparkling wines, mead and wine infused ciders and cocktails, made from freshly home-grown produce from the Island’s countryside. They have a sumptuous parlour bar, warehouse diner and outdoor terrace to enjoy their libations and partner food-pop up.

    Wow Walk – Spectacular Southern Summits and Coast

    Distance/Duration: 20 km or 12.5mi / 7h
    Total ascent: 892m
    Difficulty: Difficult

    This walk offers such variety, including a valley, moorland, coastal footpath, ancient woodland and waterfalls with spectacular views to be admired from all angles of the Island, especially from the two featuring summits which are steeped in Celtic and Viking history. This spectacular walk begins and ends at Niarbyl, a place of great beauty and a paradise for photographers and nature-lovers with the chance to spot wildlife and stand on a major geological fault line. From Niarbyl you will ascend to the top of South Barrule, believed to be the seat of Manannan – the ancient sea god. Your journey will bring you back down South Barrule before heading up Cronk ny Arrey Laa, this highest point on the Island’s iconic Raad Ny Foillan coastal footpath. From here you will witness breath-taking views of the south-west coast down towards the Calf of Man.

     

    AFTERNOON

     

    Glen Maye
    Further west and with relics of an ancient forest – this fern filled glen features a bridged gorge and racing waterfall and a revitalising walk down to a stony cove, keen walkers could follow the walk on the coastal path to Peel from here. 


    Peel - Museums and Attractions


    Renowned for glowing sunsets along its long stretching sandy beach, giving a fantastic silhouette of Peel Castle ruins standing on St. Patrick’s Isle. 


    Before sundown wander the grounds of Peel Castle (MNH), enjoy panoramic views and let the informative audio guide help you unlock its stories from its once wooden Viking fortress. The coastal walks surrounding Castle is great for spotting marine life such as basking sharks and seals in the summer months and even a rare Puffin.
    Peel is also home to a varied range of museums including the House of Manannan (MNH) – showcasing treasures found at the Castle and the Island’s Viking past and the nearby Manx Heritage Transport Museum (home to the P50 minicar). The townscape is full of hidden gems including the Cathedral Isle of Man, antiques shops and the Manx Wildlife Trust flagship shop. The town also has the largest Ice Cream shop on the Island – Davidson’s - selling award-winning local ice cream in countless flavours.


    EVENING


    Get a taste of the freshest seafood delicacies at the kiosks, quayside bistros or a local beverage and home cooked food in one of the many traditional pubs. 


    The Boatyard Restaurant
    With marina views and a warm ambience - this seafood restaurant offers local produce and beverages, and a choice Manx seafood delicacies alongside a larger menu to suit a range of tastes. 
     

    Day 4

    RNF 10: Ramsey to Maughold

    Grading: Moderate
    Distance: 7 km / 4.5 miles

    This walk takes you from a bustling harbour town to the peaceful coastal cliffs of Maughold Brooghs which blooms with gorse and bluebells in spring. Arriving at the edge of Maughold Village, you'll find the church and shelter which houses the largest collection of carved Norse and Celtic crosses.

    AFTERNOON

    RNF 11: Maughold to Laxey


    Following the route to Port Mooar a track takes you inland to country roads which offer views back over Maughold Head and beyond to the Lake District and North Cumbria. As you descend downhill take in North Barrule and follow the route through Cornaa valley to a shingle cove. A country track takes you to the deep wooded Dhoon Glen before taking an inland road to Laxey Village where you can take in views of the bay before a descent to the small fishing harbour.

    Day 5

     

    Northern Wow Walk


    A stunning walk which starts on the A2 coast road in Ramsey, taking in five summits over 1,000 feet, including two of the Island’s highest summits. The distinct ridge of North Barrule is a wonder to walk over, with fine views of the Corrany Valley, Maughold and back towards the northern plain. Following the ridge, the walk ends at the Island’s highest point, Snaefell Mountain at 2,036 feet above sea level where you’ll be treated to 360 views if you choose a clear day. As well as the Summit Café, The Victory Café which is based by The Bungalow at the Snaefell Mountain Railway crossing will provide a warm welcoming reward and refreshment!

    Take a tram ride back into Laxey where you can take a bus to back to your accommodation. 
     

     

    Day 6

     

    Glen Wyllin to Glen Mooar


    Discover an unforgettable walk through a scenic wonderland! It features two breathtaking glens, an old Victorian railway line with nostalgic charm, a stunning waterfall plus natural wildlife preserved in its very own nature reserve.
     

    Return to the hotel for a final farewell dinner, and a look back at your special exploration of the Isle of Man on foot!

     

    Day 7:

     

    After breakfast, depart the hotel for Ronaldsway airport for your flight home.
